The September 2000 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were a bold step towards improving the health of women and children around the world, especially in developing countries, where their needs are most acute.
We partner with African and Asian midwife associations, university teaching hospitals, medical specialists and health authorities in order to implement innovative solutions which address the most immediate problems women face when trying to access healthcare services.

Earlier this month, WAHA successfully assembled 26 maternal health motorbike ambulances in N’djamena, Chad. These motorbikes will be presented to the presidency and distributed throughout the country by Chad’s Ministry of Health.
On the first ever International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, WAHA International celebrates the global gains in fistula care by launching The Strength to Survive, a collection of artwork that shines light on the strong and courageous women who combat fistula in Ethiopia.
