    Mother and child EthiopiaEvery year 287 000  women die from difficulties in pregnancy and childbirth, while millions more suffer from post partum injuries.

    Developing countries account for 99%  of all maternal deaths, with nearly three fifths of the maternal deaths occurring in  sub-Saharan Africa alone.

    Chad: 26 motorbike ambulances ready for use in N'djamena

    Earlier this month, WAHA successfully assembled 26 maternal health motorbike ambulances in N’djamena, Chad. These motorbikes will be presented to the presidency and distributed throughout the country by Chad’s Ministry of Health.

On the first ever International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, WAHA International celebrates the global gains in fistula care by launching The Strength to Survive, a collection of artwork that shines light on the strong and courageous women who combat fistula in Ethiopia.
